Romaine Recall

Two companies have announced the recall of Romaine products due to possible Listeria Monocytogenes contamination concerns.

Fresh Express Incorporated has announced the recall of a limited quantity of Hearts of Romaine salad. The affected product is packaged in 18 ounce packages, and has an expired Use-by Date of September 26, 2012, with a Product Code of H256808.

The second romaine recall announced today is from Publix Supermarkets. The recall affects the 10 ounce plastic bags of Publix Hearts of Romaine (Chopped Hearts of Romaine), with a UPC code of 41415 03886. Ready Pac is the private supplier of the private label product for the company, and was distributed to Publix stores between September 8,2012 through September 20, 2012 in select Florida counties, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee.
