Recall of Arena Lamps

More than 14,000 arena lamps have been recalled, as it has been determined that the electrical design and construction of the lamps pose the risk of an electric shock.

Arena Lamps, manufactured in China and distributed by Great American Opportunities, are used to project circular colored lights on a ceiling or wall for lighting effect. The lamps came in a silver, rectangular box shape. The arena lamps are also called Disco Lights, Disco Light Projectors and Arena Light Kaleidoscopes.

The Arena Lamps were sold from April 2008 through December 2011, for between $5 and $10. The lamps were also given to schools and civic organizations in conjunction with fundraising activities during the same period.

Great American Opportunities has received one report of a lamp power cord detaching inside the lamp housing, though no injuries have been reported.
