Privacy Policy for Miller & Zois

Most likely, we have not yet met. But you can be sure that Miller & Zois cares about your privacy. Certainly, privacy has always been a big deal.  But with the Internet today, people are understandably concerned.  We will do everything in our power to protect the information you provide to us.

Most of our clients and people coming to our website are victims.  We do not want you to be a victim a second time.  So this should make it very clear how we process the information you send to us. We will not disclose anything that is not in accordance with what we set forth on this page.

Collection of Information

As most websites do, we collect information about our readers. We do not do much with it, at least not historically, mostly we just monitor who is coming to our site.  For example, we collect your IP address, the pages you visit and so forth. We have never used this to track anyone down or anything like that. Actually, that’s not 100% correct.  We do not collect anything.  But, today, everyone checking their traffic has access to these tracking tools.

We reserve the right to place what they call “cookies” on your system to recognize you when you come back.  But we have never done this before and, honestly, we would not know how to do so. You can stop websites like ours from doing this by adjusting the settings on your computer.

Use of Your Information

We do not sell our clients’ information or anything like that.  But if you contact us about a case that we do not handle or no longer handle, we may forward your information to a firm that does handle that type of case because our goal is to find you the help that you need.   Sometimes, but not always, we co-counsel with clients on these cases, allowing another firm to take the lead.  But in many cases involving non-injury-related claims, we just forward the information to a lawyer who can best handle your case.

The only other reason to disclose information is under any legal or governmental request.

Our Website Is Like Every Other: Not 100% Secure

We don’t suspect this is a practical problem but you should know that any information sent to us is not secure.  So you do provide information at your own risk.

Sending Information Does Not Form an Attorney-Client Relationship

Unless you have signed a retainer agreement with us, we are not your lawyers. No information provided here makes us your lawyers even if you feel like we are giving you advice. Because we are not.  We know you know this already. This is just one of those things we are obligated to repeat!

Unsubscribe If You Don’t Want

We do not send out emails to former prospects as such.  But, who knows, we might one day.  This was originally written six years ago and we have still never sent out such an email in 2023.  If we do, reply to any such email if you do not want to hear from us again with the word ‘unsubscribe’ and we will get out of your life unless you call us back. 🙂
