Night Light Recall

AmerTac will recall 227,000 LED Night Lights products because of the lights have a fire and burn hazards. AmerTac received 25 reports of night lights smoking, burning melting and charring. The problem with these lights is apparently an electrical short circuit that leades to overheating. There are three LED Night lights being recalled and each has a model name, a model number on packaging and a model number on the night light.

These night lights were primarily sold at hardware stores, home centers and lighting show rooms from March 2009 to October 2010 for approximately $6. AmerTac is asking customers stop using the night lights and do a bunch of work not worth $6 to get a full refund. It is such a joke really. But I’ll give AmerTac credit for this: the recall is on the front page of their website. Few companies are willing to do this.
